Diano D'Alba

Description

It is a town in the province of Cuneo, famous for the production of Diano d'Alba DOC. Located in a quiet area surrounded by sacred woods, rich in trees, where in the past, both Romans and Ligurians worshiped the goddess Diana, patroness of hunting. The town followed the fate of nearby Alba Pompeia, becoming in some moments, an important district. It was also one of the first towns to divide its territory into "Sorì", in areas particularly suitable for the growing of vines.

Not to miss:
- the Parish of St. John the Baptist, with a Baroque façade and an XVIII century portico, flanked by a spire Bell tower of the XIII century; which have submitted the obvious influences of the school of Filippo Juvarra;
- the Town Hall, an ancient mansion of the XVIII century, which features large frescoed halls.
