Rabbi

Description

Town in the province of Trento, located in the homonymous valley, on the side of the Val di Sole, the lands of Rabbi are mostly part of the Stelvio National Park, crossed by the stream Rabbies, that near Malè becomes part of the stream Noce. It is a very picturesque Alpine resort, characterized by wide pastures, natural vegetation and forests, pastures, farmsteads and rural dwellings with typical local stones. Due to its vast touristic plant, the resort can be enjoyed all year round: in Summer, in fact, it is possible to walk along the mountain paths and in the unspoilt Park; in Winter, snow lovers will be able to deal with exciting excursions with alpine skis and snowshoes or groped ice climbing on waterfalls of Valorz.
In Bagni di Rabbi, two thermal springs gush ferruginous water: known as the Antica Fonte, famous since the XVII century, and the Fonte Nuova (New Source), discovered in 1846. The therapeutic and healing properties of these waters in the XIX century attracted here numerous members of the Austrian imperial nobility.
Initially inhabited only during the Summer months, to allow the pasture of cattle, the valley has been inhabited in a stable manner only from the XIV century onwards.
