Torcegno

Description

Torcegno is a small and picturesqua mountain village in the province of Trento, set on the right bank of the Ceggio river, in a wonderful valley surrounded by meadows and chestnut trees. Thanks to its position, the town has jealously preserved its most authentic soul, based on sheep farming and dairy products. During the summer, in fact, it sounds of bells of the herds that go to pasture. It is also an ideal starting point for interesting excursions along the mountain paths.
Attractions:
- the Church of the Saints Andrea and Bartolomeo, with frescoes by Chiletto, a beautiful Via Crucis by Rovisis (father and daughter) and the ancient fresco of the Last Supper, discovered during the recent restoration;
- the Church of Divino Aiuto, built by the inhabitants after a vote;
- the remains of the castle on the Mount San Pietro, buil by Da Telvo family;
- the remains of the Austrian fortifications, trenches, walkways and underground passages.
