Description

In the beautiful landscape of the lower Valmarecchia where History and Nature weave a unique mosaic of smells, colors and earliest perceptions, suddenly, broken-off by a sublime silence, there stands Palazzo Marcosanti.

This ancient Medieval Castle, which the House of Malatesta fortified at the end of the 13th century, boasts a fascinating history protected by its ancient walls. It welcomed the most notable and renowed Italian Families (such as Malatesta, Della Rovere, Doria, Monteferro, Gonzaga, Medici and Albani). It also witnessed the historical alliances and the solemn marriages sealed between the most powerful Houses of that time.

Palazzo Marcosanti, as Tonino Guerra called "The Castle of the marriages", stands in Poggio Berni on a hill situated over one hundred meters above sea level, between the valleys of the Uso and Marecchia rivers. For this reason, it offers an excellent "coup d'oeil" ( quick glance), as they say, at 360°( the greater degree), that is to say the full extent of the view: from the fascinating outlines of San Marino, Vernocchio and San Leo to the deep blue of the Adriatic sea, along the so-called " Costa Romagnola", which you can admire on the stretch from Ravenna to Rimini.

The Poggio Berni Castle, which has been lovingly restored by the present owners, represents one of the most important tourist attractions of Rimini. Nowadays it has become a prestigious and luxurious farm holidays including lodgings, to spend unforgettable holidays in Emilia Romagna; Restaurant, for tasting typical Italian dishes, for job meetings and gala dinners. Furthermore, the Castle also provides the guests with large halls and inner courtyards to organize wedding, meeting and cultural or artistic events.

Palazzo Marcosanti, over the last 10 years, has hosted men and women coming from every part of social life: intellectuals, showmen/women, statesmen/women, ambassadors, princes/princess and whoever has desired a place where he/she could feel as a privileged. The owners welcome their guests choosing a philosophy of life which takes account of the respect for human relationships, traditions and cultural heritage that History and Civilization have impressed in these places. In other words, it can be assumed that here you can breathe the "Romagnolità".
