Campi Bisenzio

Description

The history of Campi Bisenzio can be explained by its numerous architectonic treasures.
The Parish os santo Stefano, built on 930, with a Romanesque façade, three naves and a beautiful XIV century wooden crucifix; the Church of San Donnino (IX century), the Church of San Andrea (XI century), which preserves a very important artistic masterpiesces, such as "Madonna con Bambino e Santi" (Holy Virgin with Baby Jesus and Saints) by Domenico Ghirlandaio and "Battesimo di Gesù" (Christ's Baptism) by David Ghirlandaio. The XIV century Palazzo del Potestà, the Strozzis Fortress, symbol of the city, dated back to the XI century, Villa Rucellai (XV century) and Villa Montalvo (XIV century).
