Umbria

Description

Located in the heart of Italy, Umbria is a "mystical" region: Benedict of Norcia, first, St. Francis and St. Claire, then, made these places rich in spirituality. Assisi, with the beautiful basilica dedicated to the "minstrel of God"; Todi, with the Church of San Fortunato which preserves the rests of Jacopone da Todi; Cascia, with the church and monastery dedicated to Santa Rita; Terni and its basilica dedicated to St. Valentine...are just a few names of the many religious sites of this region. Each town jealously guards its historic center, testimony of a millennial culture rich in history, art and tradition of different eras (Umbrian, Etruscan, Roman, Lombard and Renaissance period). In Perugia, for example, you can admire from the Etruscan Arch (III century BC) to Fontana Maggiore (1275-1277), from Palazzo Antinori-Gallenga Stuart (1754) to Piazza IV Novembre and Palazzo dei Priori (XIII-XV century).
