Town in the province of Bergamo, the first settlements of the community Bagnatica were founded in ancient times, but only with the Romans the municipium reached its maximum development and importance. The town's territory rises between 197 and 371 meters above sea level.
Among the historical and cultural sites worth of mention: the Castle de Palma Camozzi de Gherardi Vertova of Costa di Mezzate, a manor of ancient origins.
It was built in Medieval times even though its presence was traced only in 1160. At 1 km from Bagnatica it is possible to visit the medieval village of Costa Mazzate.
The Church of San Pietro di Mezzate is a small Romanesque building of the X century. The church, over the centuries, has submitted several renovations and architectural changes that feature an eccentric location of the cross inserted in the main façade.
