Montella, located at the foot of Mount Terminio, is a medieval town where the ancient strongholds, used in the past to sight enemies, are still visible.
Not to be missed is the picturesque Church of St. Francis at Folloni, along with the Convent, founded in all probability by Saint Francis of Assisi in 1222.
Local specialties are chestnuts (the famous Chestnut of Montella IGP), edible boletus and black truffles.
