A visit to Casertavecchia is unforgettable, one of the most evocative and well-preserved medieval villages in Italy. Here, admid little stone paved streets, aristocratic buildings and ancient churches, old traditions are still deeply felt.
At the centre of the village there is Piazza Vescovado, onto which faces the Cathedral of St. Michele, a magnificent example of arab-norman architecture with a polychromatic bell-tower, the Episcopal Palace , the Seminary and the canonical House, to form a closed rectangular courtyard.
The ruins of the Castello, built in the IX century are also preserved.
