Marcianise is the third's province major city.
Its territory was already inhabited in pre-Roman times by the Greeks, Samnites and Etruscans, whose settlements were essentially agricultural.
Of artistic interest are the Chiesa dell'Annunziata, Duomo and Loriano Castle. The Chiesa dell'Annunziata preserves an artistic heritage that is truly considerable, ranging from the 16th to 18th centuries, consisting in works by De Maio, a native of Marcianise, as well as Storace, Stanzione and others.
Several 18th century paintings are on display in the Duomo, which dates back to the 16th century.
