Patti is a town in the province of Messina, set on the Tyrrehian coast. It was founded in 1094 under the domination of Ruggiero II d'Altavilla. During the Warofthe Sicilian Vespers the city paid for its fidelity to the Angevins with its destruction by fire ordained by Federico II of Aragon.
