Cerreto Sannita is a town in the province of Benvento, located on a hill in Titerno valley; it is famous alla round the world for its fine painted ceramics.
It was totally destroyed by a terrible earthquake on June 5th 1688 and re-built thanks to the help of the Bishop Mons. G.B. De Bellis.
Many important relics were found in the first half of the XX century, as stone scraper and some large irregular shapes.
Everything in this town is decorated with ceramic tiles (churches, monuments, fountains, convent, square): a very gracious element of urban furniture.
